About us

The Seven Winds Network uses a range of traditional and digital storytelling techniques as a tools for activism and positive social change.  The Seven Winds Network brings together a diverse group of filmmakers, creative thinkers, academics, and community leaders. Together we create safe spaces for people to unite, research, develop and share authentic grassroots stories. 

We deliver projects that are designed to help people overcome the real and perceived barriers to achieving their goals. Together we offer a wide range of services that include first class, start to end high quality film production, content creation, mental health and wellbeing support sessions, podcasts, and youth-led creative initiatives.

Supportive - Inclusive - Creative

Seven Winds CIC creative programmes are focal points for change in aspirations and skills, which equip people with the tools they need to live happy, fulfilling lives.  

We create safe and inclusive creative spaces for marginalised people. Our network has experience in working sympathetically with refugees, victims of domestic violence, and vulnerable young people.  We provide a range of services including, creative digital media content, mental health and wellbeing support, and youth-led creative training programmes. Our work appeals to a broad representation of audiences and artists. We support people at various stages of their creative journey to explore, create, and share honest, challenging, innovative work that moves us towards a more inclusive global society.

Storytelling For Social Change

Seven Winds CIC creative projects and services focus on authentic grassroots storytelling because we want the 21st Century to be the People’s Century.  We want this to be the century in which the talents and achievements of everyday people are recognised.  So, Seven Winds deliver several a digital storytelling projects that helps people tell authentic stories of their past, present, and future.

Filmmaking is evolving

The film industry is about innovation. That’s the great thing about our industry: that it can change. What we have achieved so far gives us hope that we can create an industry, which is inclusive, makes the most of the authentic diverse stories waiting to be told, and satisfies an increasing global audience.  Individuals and organizations driving the innovation in the film industry have good reason to feel proud of their achievements. However, we understand that challenges lay ahead. Seven Winds is working with like-minded solution-oriented partners to create the framework for our industry’s much-needed change.

Driving Innovation

To help drive innovation, Seven Winds works with grassroots organizations and film industry partners on new approaches that supports the current and future generations of diverse talent from underrepresented backgrounds. Our approach is aimed at enhancing the creative industry’s diversity and inclusion efforts. We are creating initiatives that are reflective of the challenges our industry faces.  We are channelling our energies where they can really make a difference.  We’re thinking about sustainability, so we are adopting a holistic approach that has a meaningful and lasting impact.  Our aim is to work from the ground up, driving innovation to accelerate the careers of a new wave of diverse talent.
